Pantone is a color matching system used by designers all over the world to ensure brands and projects present a unified color story via print collaterals. These colors have numbers and sometimes whimsical shorthand names like “Tigerlily” or “Bottle Green.” These numbers indicate an exact pigment formula so the colors are the same every time - no matter the format.
Pantone produced a set of 100 postcards to celebrate the diversity of its collection and its place in the designer pantheon of tools. We decided these mini canvases would be the perfect way to show the diversity of our creative scene and organized an art show around the format. We put out a call for art and the response was overwhelming, quickly growing to a waiting list. We’re so happy to share these finished pieces with you now.
On view now at White Whale Craft Ales, more than 90 postcards from over 50 artists are available to purchase (or just stare at with a slack jaw). Priced insanely affordably, they start at just $25 and proceeds benefit the shop. Here’s a video showing the complete collection for those who can’t make it in person.
The show runs until September 30 at White Whale Craft Ales in Savannah, GA. The bar is located conveniently right next to the shop. The opening reception is today, September 5 starting at 6PM.
